Mrs. Sarah Posti
Dear Third Grade Families,
I would like to welcome you to The Campus School of Carlow University for another great school year! My name is Sarah Posti and I am very excited to be your child’s teacher. The first day of school can be very exciting as well as worrisome for some…I will let you in on a little secret…teachers get nervous as well. I’ll start by telling you a little about myself. This is my twenty-third year teaching at The Campus School and I must admit, I am extremely excited about a fantastic 2019-2020 school year!
Your third grader is in store for many meaningful and challenging experiences this year. I feel strongly that in order for the school year to be successful, it is necessary for the child, teacher, and parent(s)/guardian(s) to work closely together throughout the school year.

I dreamed I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there,
The clay they used was a young child's mind
And they finished it with care.
One was a teacher; the tools he used
Were books and music and art;
One a parent with a guiding hand
And a gentle and loving heart.
Day after day the teacher toiled
With a touch that was deft and sure
While the parent labored by his side
And polished and smoothed it o'er.
And when at last their task was done
They were proud of what they had wrought,
For the things they had molded into the child
Could neither be sold nor bought
And each agreed he would have failed
If he had worked alone.
For behind the parent stood the school
And behind the teacher, the home.

I would like you to know that I have high expectations for everyone in room 201, including myself. I want to nurture each student’s love of learning and I will strive to do so while providing a positive and safe environment that is conducive to learning. Communication between school and home is extremely important for your child’s success. Communication is key! For that reason, your child will be bringing home a binder with a daily assignment book that serves as a homework log. Please review it nightly to see if your child does/doesn’t have homework and sign/initial that you have seen it. This agenda will travel from school to home and vice versa everyday.
Besides building on previous knowledge this year we will be introducing a lot of new topics. We have a multitude of great activities planned for this year so I hope you are ready to jump right in! If you haven’t noticed it yet, I am notorious for trying new things!
Please remember that your thoughts, concerns and questions are always important to me. Please do not hesitate to call me at school at extension 2093. If I am unavailable, I will do my best to return your call in a timely manner. For those of you who use e-mail, I check my e-mail several times throughout the day therefore this would be the quickest and most efficient way to contact me. Please add me to your address book: seposti@carlow.edu
I am excited to help your child grow as a learner and can’t wait to see what exciting experiences this year holds for us! I am looking forward to getting to know you and your family.
Sincerely,
Sarah Posti
