Ms. Kathryn Schaefer

Welcome to 1B!

I have wanted to become a teacher since I was a little girl playing school with my younger brothers. I am very excited to work with you and your child. It is going to be a great year full of learning, adventure, and FUN! I am looking forward to seeing what this year will bring and getting to know all of you and your children. I would also like to share with you a little about me.

I was born and raised here in Pittsburgh. I love watching sports, crafting, baking, and spending time with friends and family. My big italian family just keeps on growing as my two younger brothers have blessed me with 3 nieces!

I have been working at Carlow for the last 8 years, it has become my second home and the staff on Campus are like a second family. I earned my B.A. in Early Childhood Education and Special Education here at Carlow University in 2012, I began working at the early learning Center as an Asistant Teacher and eventually Lead Teacher before making my way up the hill to the Campus School. I have the opportunity to move around into mulitple teacher roles  here at the Campus School. I have taught Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, as well as First grade. 

I am very excited to be in First Grade again working along side Mrs. Lagnese for another great year here at the Campus School!
