Miss Kayla Posney
"The years of early childhood are the time to prepare the soil."- Rachel Carson
Hi! My name is Kayla Posney. The Campus School has been my home since 2014. I started my journey at the Campus School as one of the extended day teachers and for the past 4 years have been one of the pre-kindergarten teachers. I love teaching Pre-K! This age is so much fun! The children make me smile every day with their love of learning, their curiosity, and the funny things they say. Whether it be watching a Pre-K student create “food” with playdough, engaging in imaginative play, building towers and bridges with blocks, or learning their letters and sounds for the first time, there is always a fun adventure occurring in our classroom. Every day in our classroom I'm learning something new from the children, laughing alongside them, and watching them develop as a human being.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Studies from Robert Morris University and a Masters in Education from Point Park University. I briefly moved to London, England to study to become an English Literature professor, but had a change of heart and realized I wanted to be a teacher. I started out as a high school English teacher, but found my heart and home in the world of early childhood. Early childhood is the best!
I love spending time with my family and friends, shopping for a fun outfit and pair of shoes, reading, watching TV, going to concerts, and rooting on the Pittsburgh Penguins. I also love traveling to London. I’ve been there 7 times and try to visit as often as I can.
